Tomas Soucek recommended to Fenerbache as West Ham United exit update emerges

West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek has been recommended to Fenerbache as they continue to look for a new midfielder, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish outlet reported on its website on Sunday (4 August) that the Czech international fits the style of player Jose Mourinho and the European club wants to sign this summer and he will decide on a potential transfer.

Soucek’s playing time is expected to become more limited this season as the Hammers close in on the signing of Guido Rodriguez who is set to join Julen Lopetegui’s ranks at the London Stadium as a free agent [Fabrizio Romano, 2 August].

Will Tomas Soucek exit West Ham amid Fenerbache transfer rumours?

West Ham supporters won’t want to lose Soucek this summer given the impact he has had over his time at the London Stadium, but it isn’t easy to see where the Czech midfielder fits in given the Irons’ recent transfer activity.

Lopetegui has wasted no time adding to his ranks over the course of his first summer in charge in East London and while he hasn’t completely revamped the midfield, he has made some big additions that may impact it.

As of now, Lucas Paqueta remains available while Mohammed Kudus could also be pushed more central if Crysencio Summerville slots in out wide, all while Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Rodriguez compete for a starting role.

On top of that, the Hammes don’t have to contend with European football this term for the first time in several seasons. That will likely mean that Lopetegui doesn’t rotate his starting XI quite as much as David Moyes did last term.

If the right offer arrives for Soucek’s signature, you’d have to imagine that the Hammers would be interested in doing business, especially as his sale could help fund one or two further additions between now and the end of the window.

This could well be a deal to watch closely as the start of the Premier League season draws closer.
