West Ham United have endured a desperately disappointing summer transfer window.

The Hammers endured a dismal 2025/26 campaign, which resulted in the embarrassment of relegation from the Premier League.

Their demotion has come at a cost, with Mateus Fernandes sold to Tottenham for £85million and Crysencio Summerville making a lucrative switch to Al-Hilal in a deal that could reach £65m.

Midfielder Freddie Potts also appears on the cusp of making the switch to Club Brugge, as West Ham try look to redress the financial imbalance caused by relegation.

Nuno Espirito Santo is yet to add to his squad, and will be desperate to do so in the coming weeks.

Will West Ham make any more player sales this summer?

Relegation was an extremely tough pill to swallo and it was inevitable there would be players who had to leave.

Fernandes and Summerville were important players, but their exits made sense given the level of interest and size of fee that could be commanded.

Potts' expected departure was not exactly expected, though, and it does raise concerns more could leave.

The likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Taty Castellanos, and Konstantinos Mavropanos have attracted reported interested, while Jean-Clair Todibo looks a shoo-in to depart.

Will some new forwards be signed by West Ham?

The answer to this one is that they really have no choice other than to do so.

Captain Jarrod Bowen sticking around is massive for the Hammers, but he needs some support in the final third.

West Ham have been linked with a move for Troy Parrott, while talks are apparently happening with Sunderland over a loan deal for Simon Adingra.

If the Hammers are going to find their way back to the Premier League, then reinforcements in the final third are frankly essential.

And what about defenders, are West Ham looking there?

Much like the need for attackers, West Ham are also desperate for more players at the back.

There have been reports that terms have been agreed with Chelsea over a return for Axel Disasi, who is said to be waiting to see if other interest develops first.

Leicester City centre-back Harry Souttar is another apparently on the Hammers' radar this window, though he will command a sizeable fee.

But it is another problem area for Nuno to solve in the coming weeks, and time is of the essence now.
