The reason stopping Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaving West Ham as Everton update drops

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is yet to seal a move away from West Ham United, even if speculation over an exit has intensified amid Everton links.

The DR Congo international hasn't been seen in claret and blue after his summer at the World Cup.

He didn't feature in any pre-season friendlies and was missing from the squad against Portsmouth on Saturday.

The Hammers secured a 3-1 Carabao Cup win without him and certainly didn't miss the right-back.

That has added to expectations that the 28-year-old will soon be on his way out of the London Stadium.

There is clearly an impasse between the defender and the Irons right now.

He seemingly doesn't want to play in the Championship and has his eye on a return to the top division.

That has seen him miss the Portsmouth clash in a trend that only looks likely to continue moving forward.

Could Wan-Bissaka be re-integrated at West Ham?

It does feel as if the defender has broken a lot of bridges in E20.

Making himself unavailable isn't a good look, but should he want to return, it would make sense to allow him to do so.

The right-back was known for his "Incredible athleticism" and "incredible focus" at Crystal Palace by coach Richard Issott, summing up what he could add to Nuno Espirito Santo's squad.

That could serve him well in the Championship, even if he doesn't see it as ideal.

A year in the second tier could do a lot for his confidence and it may be enough to help the Hammers back to the Premier League.
