Niclas Fullkrug's latest social media post has West Ham fans asking the same question
West Ham United are yet to see Niclas Fullkrug feature in pre-season.
The Germany international is back at Rush Green for the summer after his temporary exit in January.
He joined AC Milan on loan in the winter, but didn't see that deal be made permanent.
That isn't much of a surprise after the 33-year-old scored just one goal in 20 appearances for the San Siro outfit.
It doesn't appear that Nuno Espirito Santo has been impressed by what he's seen either.
That makes Fullkrug's latest social media antics all the more confusing at West Ham.
What has Niclas Fullkrug posted on Instagram?
There 1993-born striker came in at the London Stadium in 2024 with plenty of expectations.
His previous form had made him a regular for Borussia Dortmund as they reached the Champions League final.
Things just haven't worked out and nothing summed that up more than his loan departure in January.
He is now back, but is yet to be seen in a pre-season friendly at this point.
So, why is he posting images of himself in training to Instagram? A question which all Hammers' fans are asking.
That is exactly what he's done as he revealed five images alongside the likes of Ezra Mayers and even Jarrod Bowen.
The post has been liked by many Hammers teammates including Kyle Walker-Peters, Max Kilman, Edson Alvarez and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
This all adds to an increasingly curious situation as Fullkrug's future remains unclear in East London.
Will Fullkrug leave West Ham?
West Ham Zone has long covered links away from the London Stadium for Fullkrug.
The number nine continues to be linked away now, with Italian Alfredo Pedulla reporting in July that Genoa and Lazio are interested in his signature this summer.
A move is yet to be arranged, but it could be in the pipeline.
The fact that he is training with the Irons' first team, but not playing in friendlies could point towards that.
Nuno is seemingly not risking him picking up an injury as it could scupper a potential sale.
Fullkrug looks likely to be on his way out, even if his social media potentially points towards something else.
