Mark Noble's whereabouts revealed as West Ham eye more deadline-busting deals after Edvin Austbo

West Ham United sporting director Mark Noble is going to be very busy before Tuesday's 11pm transfer deadline.

The 39-year-old has been in this role since January 2023 after retiring from his excellent playing career.

Since then, he's been helping oversee West Ham's general club operations, as well as having a big hand in player recruitment.

And with Nuno Espirito Santo still looking to make further signings before the deadline, Noble may have plenty of phone calls to make.

However, Monday afternoon has seen him taking in the fresh air ahead of a frantic final few hours on the transfer front.

What match has Mark Noble been watching on Monday?

Following the arrival of Edvin Austbo on Monday, it's been reported that West Ham are now prioritising loan signings before tomorrow's 11pm deadline.

Naturally, Noble will continue to have a big part to play on that front, as the Hammers attempt to put the finishing touches to their squad.

But, as reported by The Athletic's West Ham correspondent Roshane Thomas via X, Noble isn't buried in his office on Monday afternoon.

Instead, the Hammers chief is watching West Ham Under-21s take on Chelsea's U21s in a Premier League 2 game at Kingsmeadow.

And as noted by Thomas, one West Ham academy player in particular is sure to have caught his eye: Josh Landers.

Why Landers needs West Ham loan move before Tuesday's deadline

Signed from Hibernian in January 2025, Landers arrived at the Academy of Football as a very highly-rated young striker.

The 19-year-old has only further cemented that notion since then, having established himself as a regular goalscorer at both U18 and U21 levels.

At half-time in the aforementioned PL2 game between Chelsea and West Ham, the Scottish youth international has netted a first-half hat-trick.

With Taty Castellanos, Pablo, Joel Piroe and Divine Mukasa as the Hammers' senior strike options, a first-team role looks unlikely for Landers this term.

But clearly a class above at academy level, the teenager could absolutely relish a loan opportunity if he's handed one before the window shuts.
