Luke Littler reacts as West Ham finalise brand-new signing

West Ham United’s signing of Evan Ferguson has provoked a reaction from Luke Littler on the Irishman’s social media post.

Ferguson has sent a message to Hammers fans having completed his switch from Brighton & Hove Albion, posting on Instagram (3 February) in his new claret and blue kit.

World Darts Champion Littler – who became the youngest-ever world’s best aged 17 last month – liked the post from the striker, who boosts Graham Potter’s attacking options and reunites the 20-year-old with his former Brighton boss.

Ferguson shared: “Excited to be here at West Ham for the rest of the season.

“Can’t wait to have the opportunity at such a big club and play in front of the fans! Come on you Irons.

“Also wish Brighton the best of luck for the rest of the season.”

Evan Ferguson gets his move and West Ham get their man

Ferguson had long been identified as a target – whether it be on loan or permanently – and Potter has been able to get his hands on a much-needed new striker.

Still 20 despite the notion he has been around for longer, Ferguson will be wanting to get his Premier League form back on track having disappeared onto the periphery at Brighton.

He was nurtured excellently by Potter while at the Amex Stadium, the recently-appointed Hammers boss having given him his debut as a teenager back in 2021.

Ferguson, who will wear the number 34 shirt during his loan spell at the London Stadium, will be watching his new side against Chelsea on Monday night (3 February), as his head coach visits another of his old stomping grounds at Stamford Bridge.

The Irons will be hoping for the return of talismanic skipper Jarrod Bowen as he recovers from the injury which has kept him out since the festive period.

In other West Ham news, a development emerges from Lille concerning the future of Irons-linked Angel Gomes.
