Kurt Zouma to undergo medical with new teammate before West Ham United exit
West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma is set to undergo a medical with Al Orobah, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist reported via X on Monday (26 August) that the centre-back will undergo a medical with the Saudi Pro League side alongside Cristian Tello.
A deal has been agreed upon between the Hammers and Al Oorbah with Zouma having been spotted at an airport in Saudi Arabia (via Nawaf Al-Aqeel, 26 August).
West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma to leave the London Stadium
This will be a much-welcome update for supporters at the London Stadium. Julen Lopetegui clearly had no plans to include Zouma in his first-team squad. Therefore, a transfer exit was inevitable.
Following the arrivals of Max Kilman and Jean Clair-Todibo, there wasn’t much space left for Zouma anymore. As a result, he needed to find a brand-new club before the transfer deadline.
The Saudi Pro League is slowly starting to become full of star-studded players, with teams in the region competing to sign some of Europe’s most coveted footballers.
However, Al Orobah aren’t necessarily one of the teams full of those star-studded players. They are a newly promoted team in the Saudi Pro League. As a result, this will be seen as quite the coup for them.
It also emphasises just how desperate Zouma was to leave the London Stadium, that he was prepared to join such a low-profile team.
However, from the Hammers’ point of view, it looks as if the Frenchman’s exit is finally set to be sealed, which will allow Lopetegui to breathe a sigh of relief at the London Stadium.
In other West Ham news, the club are ready to listen to late offers for two players at the London Stadium.
