Konstantinos Mavropanos could now stay at West Ham with new Jarrod Bowen-like contract

Konstantinos Mavropanos became a rare West Ham United hero last season, despite Premier League relegation.

The Greek giant was a collosus at the back alongside Axel Disasi, but also chipped in with vital goals.

Headers against Manchester City and Wolves game the Hammers hope, but it wasn't to be as they dropped into the Championship.

But now, Mavropanos could follow suit and stick around like Bowen and Nuno Espirito Santo.

It would be absolutely huge for the Hammers to secure two of their key men, but it's not official yet.

With over £140million banked from Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes, it's becoming more of a reality.

What offer have West Ham made Konstantinos Mavropanos?

Like Bowen, nobody expected the defender to stick around.

After flying out to Czechia to meet with Daniel Kretinsky though, Bowen was impressed with the ambition shown and signed a new contract.

Now, Mavropanos could be next.

The Daily Mail has reported on Thursday that an updated contract, similar to Bowen's, has been offered to the defender.

Despite that, it's said that Nuno is still desperate for defensive reinforcements, with plenty of exits expected at the London Stadium.

Who could leave West Ham next?

Summerville will be officially next, as he prepares to join Al-Hilal, but others will follow too.

In defence, it's said that Jean-Clair Todibo wants out, and Nuno wants the same outcome after a public fallout last season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also wanted, and Disasi is unlikely to return after his loan to play Championship football.

That leaves holes that are currently filled by Max Kilman, who has become hugely unpopular in east London.

Weirdly, West Ham haven't signed anyone yet apart from last season's loanee Keiber Lamadrid.

But, if they can secure the future of Mavropanos, alongside Bowen, that is two of the biggest deals they could do.

Now, it's about keeping others like Taty Castellanos and adding genuine smart quality players with know-how of the Championship.

If they do just that, West Ham could be onto a real winner, and hopefully grab a ticket straight back to the Premier League.
