Julen Lopetegui wants West Ham United transfer for Youssef En-Nesyri reunion
Julen Lopetegui wants a reunion with Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri at West Ham United this summer, according to SportsLens.
En-Nesyri has little over a year remaining on his current contract and has been on the radar of the Hammers for years now at the London Stadium.
West Ham’s incoming manager previously worked with 26-year-old Morocco international En-Nesyri during his time at the LaLiga club, and he would be a welcome fit for the Spaniard.
En-Nesyri has scored 17 goals this season and is valued as a key asset by Sevilla, but the promise of Premier League football, a likely improvement in wages, and the chance to play under Lopetegui again may turn the striker’s head.
Will West Ham United sign Youssef En-Nesyri?
West Ham have a busy transfer window ahead of them, with Lopetegui inheriting a squad which is both ageing and seeing several long-time regulars come towards the end of their contracts.
One of those is Michail Antonio, whose current deal expires this coming summer, and with no signs of the Jamaican international signing a new contract, his number nine shirt will soon become up for grabs.
Several defensive targets have also been bookmarked by the club ahead of a sea-change in the Hammers’ backline stocks, but centre-forward is arguably the position in which the club has the least depth.

Without Antonio and Danny Ings, who is also likely to be sold this summer, En-Nesyri would immediately become West Ham’s go-to striking option if he signs for the club.
The Hammers are reportedly in pursuit of other attacking options, but none with the experience or track record En-Nesyri would bring to the London Stadium.
If Lopetegui and En-Nesyri are re-united in East London in the coming months, the Spaniard can tick off one of the most crucial pieces in his West Ham jigsaw: a striker who knows the style he’ll want to play and knows where the goal is.
