Joel Piroe close to West Ham United transfer as final Leeds agreement details revealed
West Ham United could be set to sign Joel Piroe from Leeds United.
The Hammers have been on the lookout for a new forward throughout the summer.
Even with Taty Castellanos and Pablo available, Nuno Espirito Santo wants to add further reinforcements going forward.
That has seen Troy Parrott strongly linked with a London Stadium switch.
It now appears that the Irons have gone in a different direction and are moving to sign the Leeds man.
Piroe is now moving close to a London Stadium move as negotiations get underway.
How are West Ham structuring Joel Piroe transfer?
This deal has certainly come out of the blue ahead of the first game of the Championship season.
Arne Engels has already come in from Celtic ahead of the trip to face Burnley at Turf Moor.
He could soon be followed by the Leeds striker who could soon be on his way to East London.
Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof reported on Sunday that Piroe is close to joining West Ham.
The Irons are said to be in advanced negotiations to sign the forward.
An opening bid was rejected by the Whites and now the E20 outfit are focusing on sealing a loan with an obligation to buy.
How much could West Ham pay for Piroe?
The East London club only want a loan move right now, but that could still work.
That comes with Piroe's agent in England to get a deal wrapped up as soon as possible.
A report from a Rik Elfrink suggests that the Hammers have offered £15million for the forward.
That contrasts the above report suggesting that a loan is on the cards, although the fee could prove to be what the Irons pay at the end of a temporary stint.
That could prove to be great value for the Dutchman given his record of 73 goals and 18 assists in 179 Championship appearances.
