Jean-Clair Todibo given transfer green light at West Ham amid £33.5m development
Jean-Clair Todibo has the “utmost approval” of Juventus manager Thiago Motta as he continues to be linked with a move away from West Ham United, according to Tuttosport.
The Turin-based newspaper reported via their website on 29 January that the Serie A giants are considering a loan move for the Frenchman, as well as Newcastle’s Lloyd Kelly, before the transfer deadline on Monday (3 February) if they cannot sign David Hancko from Feyenoord.
Motta favours a move for Todibo, but Juventus are reluctant to include an obligation to make the deal permanent in any loan agreement for him as he is valued at £33.5million.
Graham Potter to sanction Jean-Clair Todibo exit at West Ham?
West Ham themselves have an obligation to make Todibo’s season-long loan from OGC Nice permanent and it will be interesting to see how Juventus’ interest in the centre-back develops in the coming days.
The Irons could buy the France international from Nice and loan him to Juventus if they agree to buy him at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Graham Potter is prepared to let Todibo leave with less than a week remaining in the window.
The former Chelsea boss was promised a transfer kitty when he agreed to take charge at the London Stadium [The Times], but the truth is that the Hammers are yet to make a signing this window.
It is no secret that signing a new centre-forward remains a priority for the East London outfit, while a midfielder is also being targeted.

Sanctioning a transfer for Todibo would leave Max Kilman and Konstantinos Mavropanos as West Ham’s only two senior centre-backs.
That means they would also have to sign a defender before the window slams shut on Monday, 3 February.
In other West Ham news, this Irons star is expected to leave imminently after being the subject of a permanent transfer bid.
