Jack Grealish ‘could sign West Ham deal on Friday’ in Man City exit shock

West Ham have been linked with a move for Jack Grealish as they search for a Mohammed Kudus replacement.

The Hammers now have money to spend after completing the £55million sale of Kudus to Tottenham, and Graham Potter is looking to splash the cash on an attacker.

West Ham confirmed the arrival of Senegalese defender El Hadji Malick Diouf on Tuesday (15 July), and the Irons are now prioritising signings further up the pitch.

Tom Skinner says Grealish could sign for West Ham on Friday

Jack Grealish is expected to leave Manchester City in the coming weeks after his game time under Pep Guardiola dwindled last season.

The winger has attracted interest from West Ham, but Everton and Grealish’s former club, Aston Villa, have joined them in the hunt for the Englishman.

In a post on X (18 July), ex-Apprentice contestant and West Ham supporters Tom Skinner wrote: “Jack Grealish potentially could sign a deal with us today.

“I think it would be brilliant to see him at West Ham, the kids will love him and be a proper asset to the team. What do we all think?”

The attacker has gained a reputation for being a fan favourite at his previous clubs and has captained his hometown club, Aston Villa.

Grealish never seemed to recapture his form after departing Villa Park for the Etihad in a £100million switch, but in a thinner West Ham squad, he could excel.

If the Irons were to make a move for the forward, he would likely be joining on loan.

Potter is reportedly keen on the 29-year-old, but any move could hinge on whether City would compromise on his wages and the loan fee required.

Grealish could help West Ham compete for European football again

Last summer was a miserable one for the London Stadium faithful.

Mistakes in the transfer window, such as signing Niclas Fullkrug, immediately put the Irons on the back foot last season.

Grealish thrived at Villa

Should West Ham sign former Villa duo Grealish and Douglas Luiz, they could find themselves competing at the right end of the table next season.

Potter has shown before that he can help a solid team compete in Europe, and he will want to repeat that trick.
