Soungoutou Magassa's West Ham United future hangs by a thread on deadline day.

The 22-year-old midfielder hasn't played a competitive minute of football for West Ham so far this season.

Having arrived from Monaco last summer, he's struggled to carve out a meaningful role at the London Stadium.

As a result, he looks to be a prime candidate for a deadline-beating move away from the Hammers on Tuesday.

How are West Ham are responding to Palace's Soungoutou Magassa interest?

Magassa has been linked with an early exit from West Ham throughout the summer, but so far, nothing has materialised.

One of the clubs most strongly touted to him has been Crystal Palace, and the Eagles are seemingly hoping to swoop again before the deadline.

The Guardian reporter Jacob Steinberg claims via X that Palace indeed remain keen on signing the Frenchman before 11pm.

However, it's claimed that West Ham are currently blocking any move to Selhurst Park.

Steinberg claims that Magassa is still looking to leave the London Stadium, so this could be one that drags on throughout the day.

West Ham are taking unnecessary risk with Magassa

The last thing Nuno Espirito Santo needs right now is players in his dressing room that don't want to be there.

Per reports, Magassa is one of those players, and so preventing him from leaving is a strange decision.

The arrivals of Divine Mukasa and Arne Engels have bolstered the midfield, and so Magassa should be surplus to requirements now.
