How West Ham could re-sign Axel Disasi in January as double transfer update drops
West Ham United have not given up hope on bringing Axel Disasi back to the London Stadium.
The Hammers signed the centre-back on loan from Chelsea last season, paying a £2million fee to acquire his services from January until the end of the campaign.
The Irons were in regular contact with the 28-year-old over the summer, and despite being on the same page with the Blues, they had to push hard to convince the player himself to come back to the London Stadium.
Disasi loved his time in E20, but was unwilling to make the drop to the Championship, instead opting to join Crystal Palace on loan.
The Frenchman's move to Selhurst Park has not gone to plan so far, despite his good form under Nuno Espirito Santo at the back end of last campaign.
Now, West Ham could have the right to make a move for Disasi in the January window after the latest double transfer update.
West Ham want Axel Disasi reunion in double transfer update
According to an update from ExWHUEmployee, as per West Ham Way, the Hammers still hold "firm interest" in Disasi.
There hasn't been suggestions from Palace sources yet that his loan deal could be terminated; however, it's something that the Irons are said to be closely monitoring.
If the loan agreement was terminated, West Ham would be able to move for the player in January, given he hasn't played for Chelsea this season and can therefore represent another club other than Palace.
Meanwhile, Nuno is also said to be keen on making Morato's stay in E20 permanent, with that looking possible if the Irons seal promotion back to the Premier League.
The West Ham boss reportedly "rates" Morato, and more information could soon be revealed on whether the Hammers have inserted any clauses in his loan deal that could make a permanent move easier.
Would West Ham need to sign Disasi in January?
Disasi's initial decision to snub a return to West Ham is one that many supporters most likely understand.
It's understood he had other ludicrous offers in the summer from European clubs, but clearly values the Premier League as the best division in the world.
But would West Ham actually need Disasi in January? Absolutely.
The question is: Would he want to come back?
Well, that could all depend on what position the Hammers are in when the winter window comes around.
Palace are on course for the drop under current manager Pierre Sage, and it's likely that Disasi would have chosen West Ham over the Eagles in the summer, had they stayed up.
Coming back to the London Stadium to help the Irons get over the line could be an attractive prospect for him; only time will tell.
