How much Tottenham could bank from record Troy Parrott to West Ham United transfer

Tottenham Hotspur will be keeping a very keen eye on West Ham United's possible move for Troy Parrott.

After leaving North London for the Netherlands, the Irishman has taken the Eredivisie by storm with AZ Alkmaar.

Also performing at the highest level with his country, Parrott is very hot property around Europe right now.

Nuno Espirito Santo knows that, and is ready to pull off a Championship record transfer to sign him.

West Ham have finally got to work in the transfer market this week, after failing to make a single signing in over a month.

Joel Veltman and Manor Solomon have both signed, with Parrott possibly next through the door.

How much do AZ Alkmaar really want for Troy Parrott?

The fee appears to be changing with each passing day.

Parrott has scored 51 goals and added a further 17 assists in 97 appearances in Holland, and could make a mockery of the Championship.

West Ham know that, and could pay big money to secure the striker.

The Mirror has reported in its print edition on Tuesday that AZ could want up to £25million to get a deal done.

That would surpass the record £20.5m that Burnley paid to sign Florentino Luis earlier in the summer, before his move to Ipswich.

The newspaper states on 11 August that Tottenham have a 20 per cent sell-on clause, meaning £5m of that would head the way of Roberto De Zerbi.

That would come after the £7m spent to sign Solomon from Spurs.

Who else could West Ham sign?

£25m is a huge fee for a Championship club, but the Irons have money to spend and then some.

The landscape is changing in the second tier, with clubs spending more and more every single year.

Take Middlesbrough for example, who haven't been in the Premier League for years, yet have spent up to £20m to sign Will Lankshear this summer.

So, West Ham won't hesitate to sign Parrott.

Jamie Vardy has also emerged as a possible free agent signing, but only one striker is likely needed at this moment.

Much will depend on whether Taty Castellanos sticks around, with the Argentine surely set to score freely at this level alongside Jarrod Bowen.

Parrott could be part of that, and firing West Ham to the Premier League could be the carrott he needs to make a name for himself in England after years away.
