George Earthy breaks West Ham transfer exit silence with 'amazing journey' message
West Ham United will always mean so much to George Earthy.
The forward joined West Ham at Under-6 level all the way back in 2010.
It wouldn't be until June 2022 when he would sign his first professional contract with the Hammers.
However, Earthy would only go on to make five competitive first-team appearances for the Irons, scoring just the one goal.
The 21-year-old has been out on loan for the majority of the last two seasons, and hoped to win role under Nuno Espirito Santo this summer.
Unfortunately, he wasn't able to do so, and he's now found a new permanent home in League One.
How has George Earthy described his time at West Ham?
Earthy has joined Reading for an undisclosed fee, penning a three-year contract with the Royals.
It's a move that should allow the young forward to really kickstart his senior career, and put stable, permanent roots down in Berkshire.
However, it can't have been easy for Earthy to say goodbye to West Ham given how much of his life he's dedicated to the Hammers.
That's been made clear as he's written a heartfelt message to West Ham in his first words to the club since his move was confirmed.
"From being a five-year-old kid training at Chadwell Heath on Friday nights, to then living my younger self’s dream of walking out at Upton Park as a mascot," he said.
"All the way to playing and scoring in the Premier League for my boyhood club. It’s been an amazing journey.
"I want to thank everybody at West Ham who has helped me grow and develop, both as a player and as a person.
"I’ve made memories that’ll last a lifetime. I’ll always be a fan and I wish the club nothing but the best for the future. George."

Has Earthy already found a starting role with Reading?
After his move to Reading was confirmed on 19 August, the Royals have played two games.
In the former, Earthy was handed his debut, entering the fray as a second-half substitute with 25 minutes to play.
He wasn't able to make much of an impact in that one, but he did fare better against Stevenage.
Richardson handed him his full competitive debut, playing 81 minutes in the win out of an attacking midfield role, but he wasn't able to provide a goal contribution.
But, to have been immediately involved in the side after his move paints a positive picture for his Reading career ahead.
Many connected with West Ham will no doubt be keeping a close eye on Earthy's progress with the Royals, wishing him well at every turn.
