Crysencio Summerville was attracting the interest of several clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, before departing West Ham United.

The Netherlands winger ultimately opted for a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hilal.

West Ham have now confirmed the exit of the 24-year-old, who was involved in an exit saga throughout the early stages of the transfer window.

It seemed like every day a new club was showing interest in the former Leeds United man following the Hammers' relegation to the Championship.

Manchester United were among the early front-runners, while Serie A club Roma thought they were going to win the race before Al-Hilal's offer blew them out of the water.

But it is what Summerville decided to do amid interest from Spurs that will really delight Hammers supporters, and ensure he will leave on decent terms.

What did Crysencio Summerville decide about Tottenham's interest?

The Hammers are set to bank an up-front fee of £55million for Summerville, with another £10m in add-ons.

West Ham Zone has also reported eye-watering details of his contract, with Summerville set to earn around £58million net on his deal at Al-Hilal, which runs until 2030.

With those kinds of figures being reported, it is little wonder that Roma were unable to match the offer.

But, according to a report in the Athletic, Spurs were expressing an interest in taking Summerville to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, the report states that Summerville had no intention of making that move out of respect for the Hammers, and wanted to leave on amicable terms.

In fairness to Summerville, that is quite a classy act, especially when you consider Mateus Fernandes had no hesistation in jumping ship to major rivals Spurs in an £85m deal.

While it is disappointing to see him depart at all, at least West Ham fans will not have to see Summerville running out in a Spurs shirt any time soon.

Who else could leave West Ham this summer?

Hammers fans will hope that they can stem the bleeding now that Fernandes and Summerville have been sold.

However, it is unclear how many more could heave for the London Stadium exit door this summer.

Jean-Clair Todibo looks an obvious candidate to leave, and he has been linked with a move back to France.

Brentford are now apparently in discussions with West Ham for full-back El Hadji Malick Diouf, which would leave Nuno Espirito Santo wanting more left-back cover.

And Aaron Wan-Bissaka has also been attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Everton throughout the window.

So, while West Ham had recouped some decent cash so far, it would be not be a complete surprise to see more players depart this summer.
