David Moyes speaks out as Wolves bid for West Ham ace Craig Dawson confirmed

Wolves have made a bid for West Ham defender Craig Dawson to sign him this month, David Moyes has confirmed, but a decision is yet to be made.

The central defender has been linked with a move away from the London Stadium since the summer, with the player wanting to return up north to be closer to his family.

But while a move never materialised in the summer, Wolves have now returned with a fresh bid during the January window but Moyes shared during his pre-match press conference (13 January) that the Hammers are yet to respond to it.

“We’ve had an offer from Wolves and at the moment we haven’t accepted it,” Moyes said, as quoted by The Atheltic journalist Roshane Thomas.

West Ham first

While it would be lovely for the club to let Dawson go on his way and move back up north, the situation we currently find ourselves in means we need to put the club first right now.

As it stands Dawson is under contract in east London for another six months and unless Moyes and the board are able to find a replacement that can come in and immediately be an option to be relied upon in the Premier League, then it’s not something we can entertain.

West Ham

Currently West Ham are in a relegation battle and we need everyone to be fully committed and at their best to battle our way back from it.

Moyes is struggle for results and Dawson has been seen as a bit of a leader among the team since breaking into the side last season, and we need him to find that form again if he stays.

There is still a way to go in this saga as it stands, so it’s unlikely we’ve heard the last of it, but it’s now confirmed that there could be a big exit in east London this month.
