CJ Egan-Riley agrees terms with world-class agency amid West Ham transfer rumours
West Ham United have long-been linked with a move for CJ Egan-Riley.
The Hammers were circling to make a move for the centre-back in the summer of 2025 when his contract with Burnley was coming to an end.
However, West Ham were beaten to the punch as the Manchester City youth graduate opted for a new venture abroad with Marseille.
But it is fair to say it has not been the happiest of moves thus far for the 23-year-old.
Egan-Riley was restricted to just 11 Ligue 1 appearances last season, and there have been rumours he is looking to make a move back to England.
And he has now made a decision that could exacerbate rumours of an exit from Marseille in the summer transfer window.
West Ham-linked Egan-Riley changes representatives
Rumours of a West Ham move have really gone away, especially when it was apparent he was not going to be a regular with Marseille.
It was reported by Sportsboom in April that West Ham were still interested in striking a deal for Egan-Riley.
The publication also noted that Premier League outfit Brighton were ready to hand him a lifeline to bring him back to England's top flight.
World-class talent agency The Team, posting on Instagram on Thursday, has now confirmed that Egan-Riley has agreed to join their roster of talent.
The Team wrote in their post: "We’re excited to support you CJ, both on and off the pitch."
It is certainly an interesting development at a time when West Ham are looking to rebuild following their relegation from the Premier League.
Who have West Ham been linked to this transfer window?
Relegation has hit West Ham hard in the pockets, and there is a need to make player sales this summer.
Mateus Fernandes, Crysencio Summerville, and Jarrod Bowen are among the most prominent names linked with a move away from the London Stadium this summer.
But there are plenty of names being tipped to join the Hammers for their Championship rebuild, too.
Brighton defender Adam Webster is reportedly on the Hammers' radar, while Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu is a name that keeps cropping up.
Everton winger Dwight McNeil, and Dan Neil - whose Sunderland contract runs out in a matter of days - are also names West Ham are reportedly tracking.
