Carlos Soler given West Ham United transfer update with late signing on cards
West Ham United have informed Carlos Soler that they will need to sell more players before finalising any transfer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Sky Sports journalist reported via X (29 August) that the deal is currently stalling ahead of the deadline at 11 pm on 30 August.
The Hammers are however still keen on adding the Spaniard to their ranks but he could end up staying at Paris Saint-Germain if West Ham can’t raise the funds required to sign him.
Carlos Soler would be a stellar transfer for West Ham United
Despite the Hammers already adding a plethora of attacking talent to their ranks since the start of the transfer window, this hasn’t stopped them dipping their toes into the market for further reinforcement.
Whilst Soler is more of an attacking midfielder than a winger or striker, the vast majority of his time on the pitch is spent in attacking positions where he can create opportunities for his teammates.
West Ham already have the likes of Tomas Soucek and most namely Lucas Paqueta to fulfil this role but in terms of depth, they don’t really have many options.
James Ward-Prowse is more of an attack-minded midfielder but his lack of pace somewhat hinders the midfielder in an attacking aspect.
The PSG man would be a stellar addition to Julen Lopetegui’s squad and would be able to become a solid backup for star man Paqueta.
So, should the pending deals for players such as Kurt Zouma [Dharmesh Sheth, 29 August] manage to get through before the 30 August deadline, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Soler in claret.
