Brighton ready Amario Cozier-Dubbery agreement amid West Ham loan latest

West Ham United have learned the competition they face for Amario Cozier-Duberry.

The 21-year-old Brighton winger is back at the Amex stadium after a career 2025-26 season.

He scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists whilst out on loan with Bolton Wanderers in League One.

Nuno Espirito Santo is looking for further signings before the 1 September deadline, and Cozier-Duberry would provide him with a versatile midfielder.

Indeed, despite being a right winger by trade, he's also comfortable operating in central midfield.

However, if the Hammers are to secure his services, then they will have to fend off some major competition.

Who are the other six clubs alongside West Ham who want Amario Cozier-Duberry?

Given his age and with a rapidly improving profile, Cozier-Duberry was always going to be a hot property in the EFL market this summer.

He doesn't appear to be in Fabian Hurzeler's immediate first-team plans at Brighton, and now with regular football under his belt, he'll be keen to get more of that.

The Seagulls starlet is a player that would likely start for many Championship clubs, and that's been made clear on Wednesday.

Ex-Mirror journalist Darren Witcoop claims via X that seven second-tier sides are all keen on signing the winger before the 1 September deadline.

West Ham, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Cardiff, Millwall, Swansea and Wolves are explicitly named as being those clubs.

Brighton are claimed to have offered Cozier-Duberry a new deal, and are now looking to send him out on loan again for the 2026-27 season.

So, should West Ham feel confident that out of those six other rivals, that they can beat them all to his signature?

Who should West Ham be most worried about as a Cozier-Duberry competitor?

With all due respect, West Ham should be able to rule out the likes of Cardiff and possibly even Swansea as serious rivals for Cozier-Duberry.

However, Millwall, Burnley, Middlesbrough and Wolves are all major fancies in the promotion race this season.

Naturally, their two newly-relegated rivals Burnley and Wolves may be the obvious answer as to who is the Hammers' biggest threat.

But in this case, it's perhaps Middlesbrough who they should fear most, as the Teessiders have arguably had the most impressive window of any Championsip

They've spent big on some proven Championship stars, and are strong contenders for an automatic promotion spot.

One position they haven't strengthened in, however, is the right wing, and so Cozier-Duberry would still have a big starting opportunity at the Riverside.

So, he may see them as having the back-to-front strongest team out of all of these options, but yet still be confident that he'd carve out a key role.

West Ham have plenty of transfer pull of their own though, and should be a very attractive proposition too.
