West Ham United can kill two birds with one stone with £17m move for Napoli ace Hirving Lozano
West Ham United definitely need to strengthen this summer in order to avoid a repeat of their most recent Premier League campaign.
The Hammers enjoyed stunning success in Europe by lifting the Europa Conference League trophy, but their domestic form was extremely worrying.
The East London outfit were heavily involved in a relegation battle for quite some time, only securing their safety in the final stages of the season.

Their squad simply wasn’t big enough to compete on all fronts, and that will be a worry for fans going forward, particularly given how they will be stepping things up in Europe next season in the Europa League.
But they have been handed an ideal solution to their woes, at least on the attacking side of things, with the Hammers said to have made an approach to sign Napoli forward Hirving Lozano, according to a report from Il Mattino, relayed by Mondo Napoli.
A bid in the region of £17million is said to have been made to the Italian outfit for their winger, who banged in 40 goals in 79 PSV appearances before his switch to Napoli in 2019.

He hasn’t, however, been able to continue that stunning form in Italy, with the Mexico international registering 30 goals from his 155 matches for the club so far.
That poor return has partly been due to his lack of regular minutes at Napoli, a situation which could change dramatically if he was to make a switch to West Ham this summer.
Able to operate on either wing, Lozano would allow the likes of regular Hammers wingers Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen to take some much-needed rest during the season.

As proven during his superb spell at PSV, the Mexico attacker is also able to play in a central forward role, which is, of course, an added bonus to his potential suitors.
The East London outfit are in need of attacking talent, especially out wide after Manuel Lanzini left upon the expiry of his contract.
As for Lozano, the player will be eager to be in top form in the years leading up to the 2026 World Cup, and he could be handed such an opportunity in claret and blue.
