View: Kortney Hause contract update should see West Ham act
West Ham United have been linked with a move for Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause for some time but the latest development could have put a move in doubt.
As reported by Football Insider, the Hammers have previously tabled a bid for the 26-year-old but now it looks like he could be staying in the Midlands.
According to Daily Mail reporter Tom Collomosse, Hause is set to sign a new deal at Villa Park imminently which would end West Ham’s pursuit in its tracks.
“New deal for Kortney Hause imminent. Should start at Everton on Saturday if Konsa doesn’t make it #avfc,” Collomosse tweeted from his personal account.
Hause hasn’t played nearly as much as he should have this season with Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa having developed a good partnership at the back for Villa.
There were inklings that he wanted to leave the club but this new information has suggested otherwise.

So, now is the time to look elsewhere for the defensive cover Moyes is after and there could be better and cheaper options out there.
Is the centre of defence even the area that West Ham need to strengthen the most with Kurt Zouma on his way back from injury to help out Craig Dawson and Issa Diop?
The Hammers are also in the market for a striker to provide competition and support for Michail Antonio, who is the only recognised, senior number nine at the club.
They should really prioritise an attacker in that regard as losing Antonio to an injury would be devastating for Moyes’ side and their Champions League hopes.
In other West Ham news, the club could miss out on signing this “phenomenal” player according to Sky Sports.
