Nuno Espirito Santo has already had to deal with significant losses behind the scenes at West Ham.

Maximilian Hahn, the Hammers' head of recruitment, has already left the London Stadium club, despite them trying to convince him to stay.

Paco Jemez, the manager's assistant also looks unlikely to return for the 2026-27 campaign, after a series of cryptic social media posts.

Now, Antonio Tramontano, a part of the scouting team, could return to Italy, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The 37-year-old could be the latest Hammers backroom member to depart after relegation to the Championship.

Where could West Ham scout Antonio Tramontano go?

A return to Italy could be on the cards for Tramontano, with Cremonese, who were recently relegated from Serie A.

The report states that he is one of the leading contenders to be appointed as sporting director in Lombardy.

It also claims that it is probably a head to head battle between the Irons man and former Cagliari ace Guido Angelozzi.

Why Tramontano exit is not a disaster

Backroom exits will hurt the Hammers a lot less, if they can manage to keep their players ahead of a tough season in the second tier of English football.

The likes of Jarrod Bowen, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Mateus Fernandes and Valentin Castellanos have been linked with exits.

They need as many of those stars as possible to try and secure an immediate return to the top-flight.

The East London club may well be happy to let backroom figures depart, as long as they can convince Bowen and the likes to stick around.

That is far more important than the recruitment team, who can be replaced internally, or externally, with relative ease compared to their star players.

A scout leaving should not have much impact on their plans for this summer, as most of the work in terms of potential targets will already have been done.

Therefore, of the three, Tramontano's departure will likely hurt the least, as his role was the least important when all is considered.

It would be unfair of the Hammers to deny him a return to his homeland and a promotion, and surely they will allow his exit as is not vital to their promotion ambitions.
