Tomas Soucek reveal says it all about Nuno's position at West Ham after Southampton loss
Tomas Soucek has already made an impact since returning to action for West Ham United.
The midfielder was sidelined for several months after suffering a thigh injury at the World Cup with the Czech Republic, which kept him out of action for over 100 days.
The 31-year-old returned to action for the Hammers in the 1-1 draw to QPR following the conclusion of the international break, and has featured in every match since.
Nuno Espirito Santo introduced Soucek from the bench in West Ham's 3-2 loss to Southampton in the Championship on Saturday.
The Czech Republic international grabbed a stoppage-time goal, which almost led the Irons to a last-gasp equaliser moments later.
Soucek is now up to three goals for West Ham, with growing external pressure mounting on Nuno's shoulders.
Tomas Soucek reveals says it all about Nuno's job security at West Ham
Soucek has been at the London Stadium for almost seven years now, and has committed his future to West Ham, suggesting that he wants to retire in E20.
One thing Hammers fans know about the midfielder is that, despite whatever manager is in charge, the result is the same: he scores goals.
Soucek is now West Ham's joint-third top goalscorer in the Championship already, despite having only played a measly 102 minutes of football.
He hasn't even played a full 90 minutes for the Irons this season, and is ahead of the likes of Taty Castellanos and Pablo in the goal-scoring charts.
Several players are underperforming, and they are becoming victims of Nuno's tactical weaknesses.
He's clearly not doing a good job, as it looks like Soucek is already trying to bail him out of trouble.
The West Ham head coach is surely in trouble, and a couple more bad results will most likely spell the end of his time at the London Stadium.
Who West Ham should drop to start Soucek
West Ham's midfield was dominated against Southampton, and it had to be James Ward-Prowse who had a terrific game.
Divine Mukasa was okay, and his assist proved again that he deserves his spot in the starting lineup.
However, for £22million, Arne Engles is yet to prove his worth.
Soucek brings experience and quality, and once he's fully fit, he should be starting ahead of Engels in the middle of the park.
The former Celtic man promised to bring goals and creativity to E20, but has only been the root cause of an unbalanced midfield so far under Nuno.
