West Ham want to sign Weston McKennie in January
West Ham want to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie in January, according to a new report.
Calciomercato claim that Juventus want between 30 and 35million Euros [£25.2 and £29.4million] for the American international, which doesn’t scare the Irons.
However, if the Irons want to sign McKennie from the Old Lady, they will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, and both sides have requested to have information on the player.

West Ham already have a fantastic midfield partnership in Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek, but could McKennie become the latest addition to David Moyes’ squad?
Big move for the Irons.
If West Ham were to take the plunge and sign the athletic box-to-box midfielder, they would be shelling out a large amount of money for a player who isn’t guaranteed to be in the starting XI.
So, it remains to be seen if Moyes decides that he wants to spend that much on a central midfielder.
Surely, there are other positions in the squad that need strengthening more than the midfield especially given that summer signing Alex Kral has barely had a sniff.

So, do the Irons really need another central midfielder? We would argue not, even though McKennie is a fine player.
He has been described as “extraordinary” by former Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel in the past, so he is clearly someone who can make a huge difference on this West Ham side [Ronaldo.com].
However, the midfield area is very congested, and we don’t believe that McKennie should be a priority signing for the Irons in this transfer window.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made contact with Jesse Lingard’s representatives ahead of a potential January move.
