West Ham United will need to announce Jesse Lingard signing in next 48 hours

West Ham appear to be running out of time to secure the services of ex Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard, who’s been training at Rush Green.

According to Six Foot Two (11 September), the deadline for the Premier League registration of free agents is 2pm on Wednesday (13 September).

This could see them hurry up and make an announcement in the next 24-48 hours which is very much a possibility.

Lingard is no longer a priority option for West Ham as he was two summers ago so not signing him is not going to make much of a difference.

However, the fact that he’s been training at Rush Green means David Moyes is keeping tabs on him and he even played in a friendly game.

He can be a very good backup option, especially given the fact that the Hammers did not sign a new striker this summer.

With Gianluca Scamacca leaving, many expected a replacement to be brought in but it looks like Michail Antonio is going to be leading the line.

However, his fitness cannot be relied upon so Jarrod Bowen or Mohammed Kudus may be asked to play as number nines.

This could see Lingard filling in the void for them and he’s a popular figure in the dressing room so he could be a decent presence to have on and off the field.

However, with there being Turkish interest, the Hammers need to act quickly.

In other West Ham news, an ultimate transfer decision has been made by the Hammers on Jesse Lingard amid a recent development.
