West Ham United ready to pay Ruben Amorim release clause in new manager update

West Ham United are willing to pay Sporting CP the release clause in Ruben Amorim’s contract to have him replace David Moyes, according to ABola.

Writing on their website (23 April), the Portuguese news outlet reports that the manager has a release clause in his contract worth €20m (£17.2m) for foreign clubs.

But that figure is “not an obstacle” for the Hammers, who are “determined” to bring Amorim to east London next season with David Moyes set to leave at the end of his contract.

West Ham United to appoint Ruben Amorim?

When West Ham got rid of David Moyes the first time around and brought in Manuel Pellegrini, there was little in place to help the former Premier League winner turn things around.

A new style of play was wanted but the team had just been battling with relegation and needed a rebuild, and he got key decisions wrong.

But the board and club are in a much better place to push on now and introduce a more adventurous style and moving for someone on the verge of winning the league title in Portugal currently shows bravery and ambition.

Amorim has struggled to adapt to the Premier League.

Liverpool are also said to be in the hunt for Amorim, but West Ham have made an offer that is “considerably higher” and that further suggests they’re serious.

Fans want more from this incredibly talented squad and the board sees the potential, so Amorim would be a fantastic appointment at the London Stadium.
