West Ham United fan blasted at by BBC pundit after Luton Town development on Wednesday

Don Hutchison has fired back at a West Ham United fan online after they called out David Moyes during Luton’s defeat to Liverpool.

The Hatters took a first-half lead before falling to a 4-1 loss at Anfield in the second half, but the opening goal was enough for some fans to take shots at the Hammers manager for his approach to games.

But Hutchison, a current BBC pundit and former Irons midfielder, took to his personal Twitter account (21 February) to defend Moyes and question what fans actually want.

“This is a serious question mate,” he responded.

“David Moyes has had West Ham in Europe last three years. Semi final, final and won it. Now top of the group and knocking around 6/7th in the Premier League.

“What do you want a team that ‘plays better’ but wins nothing and bottom half?”

Media don’t understand West Ham fans frustrations

Nobody is saying that David Moyes has done a bad job since he came into the club, and nobody is suggesting that should be forgotten or ignored.

But are West Ham fans just supposed to accept that they’ve reached a limit and not want to push beyon that? Is that the point football has got to?

We’ve seen very recently how well Aston Villa have done with investment in the transfer window and having a top manager with pedigree, and they’re now pushing for a Champions League spot. Why can’t the Hammers do that?

It’s quite clear that Moyes and the fans have reached a point of no return with their relationship, and every poor result and performance further dampens his legacy after the Europa Conference League win last season.

Fans just want to be more entertained than they previously have been, and hope that will see an even greater improvement in results and performances. It’s that simple.
