West Ham United defender Nayef Aguerd vulnerable to first-team axe wielding by David Moyes
Nayef Aguerd’s place in the West Ham eleven is understood to be “vulnerable”, according to a report published by the Athletic.
The media outlet claims on Wednesday, 27 September, that he’s had an error-prone start to the 2023/24 Premier League season.
Konstantinos Mavropanos signed for the Hammers for £17million this summer and is yet to make his Premier League debut for his new club.

Time to change?
Aguerd was exceptional last season but he’s failed to even reach close to his achievements from the past few months.
He looks like a shadow of his old self and some time out of the first team may help him re-establish his confidence.
He’s picking up suspensions, making numerous errors and costing his side more often than that.

The Moroccan is a talented defender but David Moyes’ job is to pick players on the basis of merit.
Thus far, Aguerd’s done very little to prove he deserves to be starting week in and week out and it may be time to hand Mavropanos his debut.
Most West Ham fans will have last seen him in an Arsenal shirt in the Premier League, but he’s matured leaps and bounds since then and is a far better player.
In other West Ham news, a Hammers star has the same conversation with a manager as James Maddison did before he joined Tottenham Hotspur.
