West Ham must move for Marcus Rashford in summer

West Ham failed to sign a striker in their previous two transfer windows, but they could amend that record with a statement signing in the summer.

The Hammers are one of the clubs willing to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United [90 min], and it will be blasphemy if they don’t chase him seriously.

According to reports from The Guardian, the 24-year-old is considering his future at the club, as he is unhappy with a lack of game time under Ralf Rangnick.

The England winger, who has also played centrally, is now giving serious consideration to leaving his boyhood club if the situation doesn’t improve.

Rashford has a contract at the club till 2023 but United have an option to extend it for another year. Whatever be the price, the Hammers must pay it.

It’s Rashford we’re talking about, after all.

He is a highly-talented striker who can also play on the left flank. Gary Lineker hailed in Match of the Day Top 10 show as a “super-talented” player.

“He’s a wonderful human being and a brilliant footballer,” said Lineker. “Super talented.

“His performances generally are (good), he performs. Perhaps he could score a few (more); he’s not a natural poacher. I love him when he plays on that left hand side and goes at players and makes things happen.”

If David Moyes can bring him to the club, it will be a real statement of intent.

After all the things Moyes said about matching Declan Rice’s ambition and playing regularly in European games, this is the moment for him.

The Hammers must tempt Rashford with an offer that he can’t refuse. Rashford has scored over 90 goals in his career, and has got a wealth of Premier League experience.

Moreover, his best years are ahead of him. He would bring that x-factor at the club and would lift everyone in the dressing room.

He is a great personality as well, and his off-field work are well-known. He could be the poster boy at the club, and the club must make every effort to bring him to the London club.
