West Ham ‘learn new Jarrod Bowen return date’, Fullkrug update also shared
Jarrod Bowen is set to return to action for West Ham United on 3 February, according to Sean Whetstone.
The Hammers insider reported via his personal West Ham Football account (20 January) that the attacker could be available for selection by Graham Potter for their Premier League clash against Chelsea in what would be a “massive boost” for the Englishman.
Whetstone also touched upon the other injured players among the Hammers ranks at the moment, with no return date set for the return of Niclas Fullkrug after his unfortunate injury.
In addition, Whetstone outlined that Crysencio Summerville is set to “return from injury this week” while Jean Clair-Todibo is set to be out until the end of February.
“Crysencio Summerville is expected to return from injury this week and should be available to play this Sunday at Villa Park according to a club source,” Whetstone wrote.
“The big news is Jarrod Bowen is expected to return for Chelsea away on Monday 3rd February which will be massive boost for Graham Potter.
“The remaining injury news is around Jean-Clair Todibo who is suffering from a long-term injury.
“Our club source expects the defender to be out for another five weeks meaning the centre-back might not be available until 27th February when the Hammers take on Leciester City at the London Stadium, but his return is not guaranteed at this stage.
“Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug remain long term injured.”
Graham Potter needs Jarrod Bowen back at West ham ASAP
If it wasn’t clear enough before Bowen was ruled out with an injury, it’s now been made abundantly clear how valuable he is to the Hammers.
The Englishman is the main creative force within the West Ham squad and without him among the first team, it feels like nothing is created or even put into the back of the net.
Potter attempted to try something new by starting with three centre-backs against Crystal Palace, and while fans may have thought they’d have been more solid at the back, the exact opposite happened.
They succumbed to a 2-0 defeat and their attack failed to show any sort of passion to try and get back into the game.

Bowen is a key cog in the Hammers’ team and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Potter counting down the days until he can include him in his starting XI.
Without the former Hull City attacker, the Hammers don’t have all that much up top, especially with Fullkrug still sidelined due to injury.
In other West Ham news, an update has emerged on the transfer of Maxwel Cornet.
