West Ham star Jarrod Bowen could return from his broken foot ahead of schedule, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports reporter shared an update (15 January) on the 27-year-old's recovery, sharing that he is making good progress.

With West Ham looking for a new striker, Graham Potter is said to be assessing his current options before making any formal transfer moves.

The England international has missed the Hammers' last three matches in all competitions with the injury that he suffered in the 5-0 loss to Liverpool.

West Ham itching to get Bowen back

Potter will be hoping to get Bowen back earlier than he planned as the former Hull City man is by far and away his most dangerous player.

The 14-cap international has picked up the slack for summer signings such as Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville, who have failed to impress consistently since moving to the London Stadium.

The Hammers are in the market to relieve that burden on the Englishman as they look for a new striker [Sean Whetstone] after the news that Fullkrug is set to be out for three months.

When Bowen does return, he will look to pick up where he started and continue a season that has cemented his place as the East London club's star man.

There will surely be interest in his services if he maintains those levels in the second half of the season but the Hammers should reject any inquiries that they receive.

The former Hereford man is indispensable and Potter will look forward to unleashing him when he is ready to return.
