West Ham insiders deny David Moyes leak
West Ham insiders have reportedly denied the fact that David Moyes leaked their transfer budget for the summer.
According to Claret & Hugh journalist Hugh Southon, the insiders cannot believe that Moyes would ever share confidential information such as that.
The alleged leak was made by Kidderminster owner Richard Lane after their narrow FA Cup defeat against the Hammers.

Speaking to LBC’s James O’Brien on 23 February, via Knees Up Mother Brown, Lane complained about the monetary contrast between the two side’s situations, saying: “The sort of money we’re talking about, what is potentially given to non-league clubs to give them security for many years to come hasn’t happened on this occasion.
“I was disappointed and frustrated in that, especially when you hear David Moyes talking to our assistant manager about having £100million in the kitty for January transfers.”
Bonkers
This saga is a classic example of ‘I said, you said’ and it’s unlikely to be conclusive until one side comes out with the facts.
Moyes may have indicated that Premier League clubs do have greater budgets and that was then misconstrued by the assistant manager.
Even if he did mean it for West Ham, Lane had no right to say that in public as it is privileged information.

These things do leak all the time, but it’s never done directly by owners or managers.
He clearly must be regretting making a public statement, given the backlash he’s faced of late.
That said, we hope that the budget is close to the figure claimed as the Hammers clearly need to strengthen many departments this summer.
