West Ham in hunt to sign Brazilian centre-back Gleison Bremer amid crisis
By Joe Ellis
Brazilian central defender Gleison Bremer has emerged as a target for West Ham as they look to patch up their injury-stricken defence, according to CalcioMercato.
The Hammers are currently without Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma through injury and progression in the UEFA Europa League has seen the club look to add to their options.
Bremer, 24, has been a key part of the Torino defence and his performances in Italy have reportedly caught the eye of Hammers boss David Moyes, the Italian football website claims.

Moyes-like defender
Bremer has been one of few standout players for Torino this season and the 24-year-old would be a similar mould of player to those already at the London Stadium.
At six foot 2 inches tall, Bremer is a commanding defender in the air and has the speed and strength to make him a formidable opponent for any attacker.

Despite Torino languishing in 13th place in Serie A, they boast an impressive defensive record of just 17 goals conceded, less than leaders AC Milan.
With Craig Dawson and Issa Diop the only fit senior centre-halves, Bremer would provide a much needed calm head and bundles of energy along with an eye for goal.
In his 76 games for the Italian side, Bremer has netted 10 times from the heart of the defence including the decisive goal, his second of 2021-22, in Torino’s latest Serie A win against Udinese.
A goal-scoring record like that is another big tick on Bremer’s checklist with West Ham one of the Premier League’s most potent sides from set-pieces.
In other West Ham news, the Irons could sign this ‘Incredible’ Salthouse striker in January after an on-air claim by a talkSPORT journalist.
