West Ham have no intention of letting Issa Diop leave today

West Ham have no intention of letting Issa Diop leave the club today, according to a report from Claret & Hugh.

They claim that reports that the Frenchman could leave are “wide of the mark”, and David Moyes will not allow the centre-back to leave the London Stadium so late.

Diop had been linked with a move away from West Ham earlier today and earlier in the window, but it appears as if he will be staying to compete with Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna, and Craig Dawson [West Ham Way].

Diop to stay.

The 24-year-old has not played even a minute in any of the Hammers’ first three league games, so you can see why he was linked with a move away.

However, it appears as if he will be staying, and he is going to face some fight to get some regular minutes after the arrival of Zouma.

Diop has had some excellent games for the Irons and has been described as a “monster” by Jose Mourinho in the past [Evening Standard].

However, he has not really been a player that Moyes has relied on, and you could argue that if he isn’t going to play, then he should go out on loan.

Still, given the number of games that the Hammers could play this season, Diop could yet play an important role, so in the end, it is probably the right decision to keep him at the club for now.

In other West Ham news, the club are in talks for another forward player.
