West Ham defender Ben Johnson could be ruled out for 2-4 weeks

West Ham defender Ben Johnson could be ruled out for two to four weeks after suffering an injury against Chelsea, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers right-back will undergo a scan on Monday along with Kurt Zouma who also picked up an injury in Saturday’s 3-2 win.

The Frenchman went down holding his knee and it could be a cause of concern as he’s had issues with his knees in the past.

Ex wrote, “There are injury concerns over both Ben Johnson and Kurt Zouma after both had to be replaced during the Chelsea win. Ben Johnson’s injury appears to be his hamstring and the initial feeling was that it was not a major tear but this could still carry a 2-4 week period out.

“There was more of a concern over Kurt Zouma who was in a lot of pain with his knee and he has had serious problems with his knees in the past. The player apparently felt something pop.

“The severity of both players’ injuries will be determined by scans that have been scheduled for Monday.”

Fingers crossed

It’s never good to see players getting injured, but the Hammers have been extremely unlucky in the past few weeks.

First, Angelo Ogbonna suffered an ACL injury that ruled him out for the entirety of the campaign and now they’ve suffered a double blow.

Zouma, who arrived in the summer, has fit in perfectly into Moyes’ system and a considerable amount of times on the touchline may tarnish everything he’s learned since moving to the London Stadium.

It would also mean that the Hammers would desperately have to sign a centre-back in January.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it’s nothing serious and both Johnson and Zouma return to action as soon as possible.

Even if the Frenchman is back within a week or two, signing a centre-back in January is imperative if the Hammers are to finish in the top four.
