West Ham attacker Said Benrahma has small chance of Manchester United return

ExWHUemployee has given West Ham attacker a small chance to return for the game against Manchester United on Saturday (January 22).

The Algerian is out on international duty for the AFCON and has seen his country begin the tournament in disastrous fashion with one draw and one loss from their first two games.

They next take on one of the tournament favourites Ivory Coast and anything but a win could end their chances of progression.

Assuming Algeria get knocked out, Ex said on the West Ham Way Podcast, “There’s a small chance that he could be available for the Manchester United game. Obviously, you have to factor travel into it.”

Hope he’s back

While losing in an international competition wouldn’t be too good for him, it would be a blessing for the Hammers.

They’ve seemed to struggle for that added creativity in the final third of late and the Algerian could certainly provide that for them.

While he may have started slowly last term, this season he kicked on from the word go and would’ve been more prolific had it not been for his injury.

His trickery down the left is something that could give Diogo Dalot plenty of nightmares as he’s not known for the defensive aspect of his game.

Algeria’s game is on Thursday afternoon so Benrahma could even fly back to London and reach by that night, giving him another day of training.

While he may be on the bench, David Moyes will at least be delighted that he has a potential game changer he can bring on in case the chips are down.

In other West Ham news, the club want to sign a ‘World class’ central midfielder in January and the player is set to leave on one condition
