Tottenham Hotspur beat West Ham and Chelsea in race to sign Yves Bissouma

West Ham and Chelsea have reportedly lost out in the race to sign Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.

According to 90Min, Tottenham Hotspur are likely to win the race to sign the Mali international this summer with the Seagulls giving the player permission to discuss personal terms.

The Hammers held negotiations with the player, but he appears to have his heart set on a move to North London.

No Champions League?

Spurs have the lure of Champions League football and that would have swung this deal in their favour.

They had no been as extensively linked with the 25-year-old as some of the other clubs, but have moved quickly to get this one over the line as soon as possible.

With Tomas Soucek facing an uncertain future at the club, Bissouma would have been an ideal replacement should he be sold this summer.

However, the Hammers did not push hard enough for the Brighton ace and will now have to look elsewhere in order to sign a quality midfielder.

It’s not been the best start to the window so far for West Ham as they are still to get the signing of Nayef Aguerd over the line.

David Moyes will have surely grown tired of the club’s incompetence to get deals done quickly and would be disappointed to miss out on Bissouma.
