Tosin Adarabioyo brutally mocks West Ham United with social media post after Chelsea win
Tosin Adarabioyo has mocked West Ham United after Chelsea beat Julen Lopetegui’s side at the London Stadium.
The Hammers’ winless start to the league campaign in East London continued on Saturday (21 September) as a brace from Nicolas Jackson and a goal from Cole Palmer ensured the Blues claimed all three points with a 3-0 win.
Having taken to social media in the lead-up to the game to suggest Enzo Maresca’s side had “bubbles to burst” [X, 19 September] Chelsea defender Adarabioyo was quick to send the Irons a new message after the full-time whistle.
Writing on X on Saturday (21 September) he said: “Pop, pop” followed by a bubble emoji, mocking the Hammers’ anthem, I’m forever blowing bubbles.
Pressure on Julen Lopetegui after West Ham lose to Chelsea
While Adarabioyo’s tweet is nothing more than a player having a laugh, it sums up what was genuinely an embarrassing and dreadful afternoon for everyone associated with West Ham.
Lopetegui’s side were second best in every aspect of the game and while a lot of the blame lies with the manager for getting his setup wrong, the players didn’t look as though they were interested in turning up.
That sort of display is unacceptable. The former Real Madrid manager was not brought in to make the London Stadium a ground that other teams are looking forward to playing at.
If that message from an opponent so soon after the full-time whistle isn’t enough to get the players up for a game, the Irons have more problems than they’ve shown.
No player should be comfortable being mocked in that manner by an opposition player.
Hopefully, West Ham will waste no time bouncing back from this defeat and find a way to get back to winning ways at Anfield.
It won’t be easy, but progression in the cup is a must after a miserable start to the league season.
