Tim Steidten at centre of incredible claim after what’s gone on at West Ham United
Stephen Warnock believes it’s “incredible” that West Ham United technical director Tim Steidten has gone radio silent after the Hammers’ recent form.
Julen Lopetegui’s men are 15th in the Premier League and are just five points clear of the relegation zone after losing 4-1 at Tottenham on Saturday (19 October).
They’ve only won two top-flight clashes this season and Warnock, speaking live on Sky Sports News (21 October, 12:41pm), shared his thoughts about the lack of involvement the German has had of late.
“It’s incredible that the director of football, who brought in all these players and told us all about it, suddenly he’s gone quiet,” he said.
“Suddenly he doesn’t want to give interviews. He knows things aren’t going well.”
West Ham United and Julen Lopetegui need to up their game
The Hammers have massively underperformed this season and that’s putting it politely. They were one of the busiest teams in the Premier League over the summer transfer window and some of the moves they made were lauded by fans and pundits alike.
The likes of Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd were shipped off after their poor performances last term and defensive reinforcement in the form of Max Kilman and Jean Clair-Todibo was brought in.
Most of West Ham’s arrivals made sense, with Niclas Fullkrug’s transfer being the one that intrigued fans the most.
However, his absence due to injury has hindered West Ham’s progression and has forced Lopetegui to stick it out with both Danny Ings and Michail Antonio leading his attacking line.

There are plenty of moving parts at the club of course but it feels like something needs to click soon, otherwise the Spaniard’s tenure at the London Stadium could to a rather abrupt end.
That wouldn’t be ideal for the manager or the club, especially considering how much money they gave him to spend in the summer.
