Steidten exit: ExWHUEmployee shares ‘massive’ update, West Ham hire almost done

West Ham United could push Tim Steidten out of the club in the coming weeks, according to ExWHUExmployee.

The Irons insider reported via The West Ham Way’s Patreon (22 January) that Kyle Macaulay is set to begin work at the London Stadium in a behind-the-scenes role this week after finalising his exit from Chelsea.

That means Steidten, whose influence has “massively” reduced in recent weeks, is already looking for another job and could walk away from the East London outfit if he is not fired in the next few weeks.

“The club look set to finalise the move for Kyle Macauley with him ready to start work this week”, ExWHUEmployee said on The West Ham Way’s Patreon, as quoted on their website.

“Tim Steidten at the moment, still remains at the club although his role and influence are said to have been massively reduced.

“It is thought that he is currently looking for alternative employment and could possibly walk or be pushed out in the next coming weeks.”

Kyle Macaulay to take over from Tim Steidten at West Ham

Reports suggest that Macaulay’s role at West Ham will not be the same as Steidten’s.

However, that is not to say that the technical director will continue at the London Stadium, having seen his influence dwindle after recently-sacked head coach Julen Lopetegui ordered him to stay away from the training ground.

David Sullivan has already taken more control of recruitment this transfer window, while Karren Brady led negotiations with Graham Potter before he was hired [The Guardian].

Macaulay is one of Potter’s closest allies, having worked with him at Ostersunds, Swansea City, Brighton and Chelsea.

With the Scot now set to reunite with Potter at West Ham, there is no point for Steidten to continue with the Hammers.

Therefore, it is only a matter of time before the German transfer guru ends his association with the Premier League club.

Lopetegui, who fell out with Steidten in his final days as the Irons boss, will surely be laughing in the corner, watching the developments unfold at his previous club.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are wrapping up the £13million signing of this player, with a medical already booked.
