West Ham United have agreed to sign midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi from OH Leuven, according to Rob Dorsett.

The Sky Sports reporter posted on X (22 January) to reveal that the Hammers have settled on a deal with the Belgian club, with Banzuzi now ready to fly to England and complete the move.

It is expected the 19-year-old Dutchman will be an Irons player by the end of the week, and will become the first signing made at the London Stadium under Graham Potter.

Potter's side were reported to be plotting a bid of around £12million for the youngster (TBR Football, 21 January), and have now made their move with a £10million bid accepted including add-ons worth up to £3m.

"West Ham United have agreed a deal with Belgian club OH Leuven to sign midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi," Dorsett shared.

"The agreement is for £10million up front plus £3m in potential add-ons.

"Banzuzi is due to fly to England for a medical in the next 24 hours."

West Ham United set to sign Banzuzi

West Ham United fans will be delighted to be back in the mix in the transfer market, with Banzuzi one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Europe.

The Netherlands Under-21 attacking midfielder has already played 50 times in the first team at Leuven, following his time at NAC Breda in which he debuted for the club aged 16.

Banzuzi was also reportedly wanted by AS Monaco (Voetbal International, 6 January), who despite their Champions League status have been muscled out by West Ham.

The opportunity to play in the Premier League appears massive for the teenage talent, who will back his chances of earning minutes under Potter ahead of several underperforming players in the first-team squad.

The Irons are expected to remain very active in the transfer window as they look for oven-ready players to come in and turn the club's season around.
