Stan Collymore: David Moyes proved me wrong
David Moyes has been praised by Stan Collymore after West Ham raced to an impressive 4-1 victory against Leicester City.
After a disappointing spell at Manchester United followed by an unimpressive stint at Real Sociedad, Moyes’ managerial career appeared to be waning.
Even Collymore, a former Premier League striker, thought that his best days were behind him, but has been impressed by the work he’s put in at the London Stadium.
After the Leicester victory, he took to Twitter to say, “Moyes lost his way after United and I thought he was done.
“Dug in after Matchday 2 last season (beat Wolves, Leicester, drew against Spurs and City) when the pressure was square on him and looked a different man and manager after that.
“Fair play to him, got his mojo back.”
Some redemption
Moyes’ appointment for the second time did not really excite the Hammers fanbase just like the first one, but he’s gone on to silence his critics in these last two seasons at the London Stadium.
Few would’ve thought that he would guide us to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, given how incompetent our board has been for years.
He worked under the pressure and immense scrutiny of the fans and continued to chalk out results week after week.
Our recruitment under him also changed and we’ve started to get in better players every window.

Even for the players already at the club, he’s been a revelation and has gone on to improve most of them.
Under Moyes, we’ve got a clear identity and we’ve looked to play football the right way.
There are times where he’s taken the pragmatic approach, but the end justifies the means and we’re loving the David Moyes era at West Ham.
