Sky Sports pundit Danny Gabbidon waxes lyrical over West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen
Danny Gabbidon was waxing lyrical of Jarrod Bowen during the West Ham v Tottenham Hotspur EFL Cup clash on Thursday.
Bowen scored an equaliser to make it 1-1, before Spurs hit the Hammers back to go into the lead.
However, the Englishman’s goal was sensational and duly deserved the praise from Gabbidon on commentatory for Sky Sports.
He said, “First-class finish that from Bowen. Outstanding really. It’s a touch of genius from him.”
What a game
It’s been a breathtaking watch between two sides going gung-ho.
Half-time came at the wrong time as this game was being played at 100 miles an hour.
Despite Spurs taking the lead, the Hammers looked the better side and scored their deserved equaliser through Bowen.
Eric Dier’s misplaced pass was capitalised on by the West Ham attackers and Bowen calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net.
He did pick up a yellow card later in the half, but he has every reason to be happy with his performance.
Hopefully, David Moyes asks his players to play the same way in the second period as this Spurs side is there for the taking.
Liverpool are also appearing to be losing their game and Chelsea have fielded a weakened side.
The Hammers have a good chance of actually winning some silverware and the next 45 minutes are key.
