Scott Minto doesn’t see West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen in England’s first eleven
Scott Minto has suggested that West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen isn’t near England’s first eleven at present, despite making Gareth Southgate’s squad for the first time.
The 25-year-old has 22 goals and assists this season, which is the second highest output from an English player behind Harry Kane.
Despite this stat, Minto still believes the winger isn’t quite in the starting eleven at present.

Talking on talkSPORT on [Wednesday 25 May] Minto said: “I still wouldn’t put him in a first eleven but this is the perfect time with the four games coming up.
“If he can come in and do really well then there is no reason why he can’t get into the World Cup squad.”
Bowen has to be in the conversation
Bowen has got to be in contention to be in Southgate’s starting eleven.
The West Ham winger has the highest output of any winger Southgate has at his disposal and Bowen has achieved this whilst not being at one of the traditional big six clubs.
Any fears that Bowen cannot perform at the highest level should be quashed straight away.
The former Hull man has performed against the highest calibre of opposition in the Premier League this season, having recently scored twice against Manchester City and tormented Chelsea earlier in the season.

Bowen provides England with a slightly different threat from out wide, with the winger keen to make incisive runs centrally.
Furthermore, the West Ham man has the finishing ability that rivals most strikers at present.
Southgate would be foolish not to give the winger as much game time as possible in the upcoming Nations League matches.
Bowen has progressed at every step up he has taken in his career and it wouldn’t be a shock to see him do the same on the international stage.
