West Ham United hold talks with Emmanuel Dennis agent, also eyeing Hassane Kamara

West Ham United have held talks with the agent of Watford star Emmanuel Dennis over a possible £20m deal this summer, according to The Express.

Dennis was the stand-out player for the Hornets as they were relegated back down to the Championship this season, scoring ten goals and registering six assists in 33 appearances.

With David Moyes keen to sign an attacker or two to bolster the squad and provide competition for Michail Antonio, the club have looked to make a move early in the window and his agent is holding talks with several interested parties.

According to the report though the Hammers are also showing an interest in Hornets left-back Hassane Kamara, who has attracted admirers from higher ups at the London Stadium.

However they say it is unclear currently if they will look to explore a deal for the 28-year-old, who only joined Watford in the January transfer window but impressed as they went back down at the first time of asking.

Interesting interest

West Ham’s positions where they need to strengthen are absolutely clear and it’s good to see that the club are making early moves to get business done.

Dennis showed that he can have a great impact in the Premier League even in a struggling side and his ability to play through the middle or out wide would be a big help to Moyes’ side.

The interest in Kamara is interesting though, because the club aren’t in desperate need of a left-back any time soon.

Aaron Cresswell is 33-years-old now but is still the undisputed number one choice, while Ben Johnson has proven himself to be a perfect understudy.

There isn’t much upside to Kamara, considering his age and while he likely won’t cost too much he simply isn’t needed and it would be a weird deal to do when there are so many other areas that need addressing first.
