Real Madrid unwilling to match West Ham asking rate for Declan Rice

Real Madrid are reportedly unwilling to meet what West Ham want in order to let go of midfielder Declan Rice.

According to a report by Spanish media outlet Defensa Central, the 22-year-old is on the radar of the La Liga leaders for this summer.

While they hold a keen interest in the England international, they’re unwilling to pay £126million to secure his services.

Good thing

Rice is the biggest asset West Ham have ever had and they know he holds an extremely high market value.

The clubs keen on him can afford to pay that kind of money as they have done so in the past.

So, to demand nine-figure fees from them is not beyond any recognition and Real are capable of matching that rate.

They have spent ridiculous sums of money in the past on players that have seldom justified it.

However, despite them being seemingly out of the race, the likes of Manchester United, City and Chelsea are still understood to be lurking.

They’re all looking to sign another midfielder this summer and we will be surprised if Rice is not one of the first names on their shortlists.

This could very well be his last season at the London Stadium but we’re hoping that he stays put for longer.

In other West Ham news, the club want to sign a ‘Brilliant’ Chelsea player who will tick a major box for David Moyes in the summer.
