PSG make contact to sign West Ham-linked Hugo Ekitike

Paris St. Germain have reportedly made contact with Reims forward Hugo Ekitike who’s also wanted by West Ham in January.

According to French media outlet Le 10 Sport, the Ligue 1 leaders are in touch with the striker’s representatives over a possible January move.

The Hammers have already made a bid for the 19-year-old, and it remains to be seen whether he shows an interest in moving to PSG.

The report reads, “On January 10 West Ham was the only team to be concretely taken action with a proposal amounting to 1€5M.

“PSG would therefore intend to try their luck with the native of Reims and would have already contacted the representatives of the striker, who is seen internally as the possible successor to Kylian Mbappé in the long term.”

Sign him up

The French striker is one of the hottest prospects in the league and it’s no surprise that so many teams appear to be queuing up around him.

The Hammers clearly need to sign a striker this month and Ekitike will offer an option not just for the present but also the future.

At PSG, he will have to wait in the wings and play second fiddle to Mauricio Pochettinho’s first-choice options.

West Ham

The likes of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe aren’t going to be benched by someone like Ekitike.

At West Ham, on the other hand, he could work his way to becoming a first-team regular as early as this season.

If they’re hellbent on securing his services, they need to act quickly as PSG appear to be extremely keen on snapping him up.
