Patrick Kelly prefers West Ham over host of Premier League clubs with medical scheduled

A number of Premier League clubs reportedly wanted to sign West Ham target Patrick Kelly in the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports (Jun 13, 15:07), the Coleraine midfielder decided that the London Stadium would be best in terms of his career progression.

Kelly, 17, is set to undergo a medical at West Ham once he finishes his current international duty with the Ireland Under-19s.

West Ham

One for the future

If Kelly joined the Hammers over many other Premier League clubs, it’s clear that they’ve got a distinct plan in their mind for him.

He’s not going to be a first-team player next season, but if there have been promises made about his playing time in the future, that will be a major factor.

He could very well be part of the first-team pre-season squad and may even get a few minutes under his belt with senior players.

This is only going to be beneficial for him in the future and we cannot wait to see how well he plays for the Under-23s.

A number of youngsters were handed their debuts this season by David Moyes and he would be looking at Kelly with a view for the future in the coming months.

Exciting times are ahead for the Northern Irishman.
